Roblox Corporation sues old troll who temporarily shut out inoperative its developer conference with alleged 'violent threats'
The Roblox Corp is suing a longtime thorn in its side: matchless Benjamin Robert Simon, known online as Ruben Sim, World Health Organization has been making contentious content on and about the platform for many eld. The suit was filed Tuesday (thanks, Polygon) in California and alleges Simon "commits and encourages unlawful acts configured to injure Roblox and its users" while seeking $1.6 million in indemnity.
Simon has long been banned from Roblox but continues to access it through other accounts, which allegedly include hacked accounts. Atomic number 2's been accused of harassing other users, including sexual harassment, and using discriminatory and racist language. This is, per Roblox Corporation's lawyers, some on the Roblox platform and along his Youtube and Patreon channels, where IT is monetised.
St. Simon's alleged behaviour specifically includes "attempting to upload a nude image of himself with lonesome a lampshade covering his genitals" (thanks, Kotaku), "attempting to upload a sex game" and "attempting to upload pictures of Hitler."
Roblox Pot further alleges that Simon and his "cybermob" of like-given individuals caused the temporary shutdown of the Roblox Developers Conference in San Francisco in October due to "terrorist threats." When discussing the YouTube headquarters shooting from April 2018, Simon the Zealot allegedly said "hold back until [someone] does it to Roblox." During the event he's alleged to have posted a content on Chirrup saying San Francisco police were "intelligent for infamous Islamic Extremist" [sic] at the developer conference, and another saying "Don't touch RDC tomorrow." Many of these tweets have since been deleted.
The case was temporarily fold until patrol and security had conducted a research and secured the building. Roblox's lawyers say this cost $50,000
Roblox is suing him for fraud and breach of concentrate, among four other counts. We've contacted Roblox Corporation for comment and will update with any response.
